Hi There!!..
I’m Damar and I still remember my favorite dress when I was a child.
It had princess cut, flower prints and my grandmother had made it.
The special thing about this dress was neither the cut nor the flower print, not even the fact that it was made by my grandmother. The special thing about this dress was that, it was made just for me, in the way I liked it, no one else had it and wearing it gave me the sensation that everything was possible in life. It was then when I learned that we are what we wear and that we can transmit energy through our clothing. Seven years ago I have finished my studies in fashion design. Since then, I make my own clothes through which I learn and contribute with my grain of sand towards a sustainable world.
Designing, cutting and sewing our own clothes surely reduces the impact of some unfair, negative aspects of today’s fashion industry but what about the fabric we use to make our clothes? Here comes my favorite technique to play: Upcycling. I have started working with this technique since 2014 and I believe it is the most powerful solution we have against Fast Fashion industry.
If you are a lover of fashion and craftsmanship, if you know you have the desire and you want to be part of the Fashion Revolution Movement, then you are in the right place! Here, we are going to learn techniques to make our own clothes, exchange ideas about sustainable fashion and we are going to explore the world of Upcycling.
Welcome!
